POLYMER QUENCHING
Cooling operation, previously heated steels, by immersion in a fluid, by spraying a fluid, or by blowing air. The cooling is carried out in a controlled manner (speed, temperature) according to the targeted characteristics.
Polymer quenching consists of cooling by immersion in a tank of water with additives with stirring, the polymer concentration of which can be adapted according to the expected results.
In general, a polymer-based quench fluid offers drasticity and an intermediate cooling rate between water and oil
